Best Anti-virus in less price... |

I found it to be one of the best anti-viruses in less price....it keeps my computer safe while I am surfing the net, when I am on network and prompts me wherever it feels the app i am accessing may be harmful for my laptop which is cool...the only small issue that I see with this is it made my laptop a bit slow at the time of restart and opening any app for the first time, may be it scans that app internally before it opens it....but overall a good deal.. |

Does What You Expect, Not Much More |

McAfee VirusScan Plus 2008 is pretty much your typical virus protection as you surf the web. I'm sure it's better than their previous version--I just don't know how. I like my virus scanners to do their job but stay in the background and not take any (noticeably) additional CPU power. VirusScan does this, but most other freeware virus scanners do as well if not better. |

Won't let me connect to the internet!!! |

After uninstalling Norton Antivirus (duh), I installed McAfee VirusScan Plus. This program won't allow any programs on my laptop to connect to the internet, including itself! I've spent countless hours, on the phone and on-line, with McAfee's apparently all-Indian support team. First they blame it on Norton, then they blame it on my ISP...no, it's their fault. When I remove McAfee, everything's hunky-dory. Maybe my problem is an anomaly, but I wish I had just paid to upgrade Norton. At least I now have a good Indian friend named Mike, who likes to tell me to "have a good sleep." Good luck, all, but this program is not for me. |
