The end of my closet nightmare |
When my overloaded closet rod came crashing down this summer, I knew I had to do something different. I debated what type of closet system to install--one of these adjustable types, another simple rod, or my own custom creation. I chose the 3-6 foot deluxe custom closet kit for my closet, which measures just over 6 feet wide.
I have plaster walls, so I had to take extra precautions to secure the main supports. Otherwise, the entire installation took me less than a day. (I was taking my time, your results may vary!)
I have been completely satisfied with the system, and have so much more space than I ever imagined. I loved being able to set up the shelves like I wanted. I ended up with extra components that I have not installed--an extra rod and a couple of extra shelves.
As for my other closets, I would not hesitate to install another Rubbermaid system. |

I was hoping I made the right choice when I bought the Rubbermaid closet kit and now I know I did! The hubby and I put it up easily in under an hour. We moved into our new home less than two months ago and half of our closet was still in boxes or piled on the floor of the closet. This was our first walk in closet yet we couldn't walk in it! Not only can we walk in it now but we got all of our clothes unpacked and in there as well and we only bought a kit for one wall! We've already decided to purchase more and finish out our other closets. They seem really sturdy and my husbands clothes are hanging with no problem and he's a big guy so his clothes are really heavy. The shelves are my favorite part, since I mostly only hang my pants, and I would love to have a wall of shelves! |

Rubbermaid 3 to 6 foot closet |
I put this closet up in my basement. I have tried lots of the portable closets but they all broke. This Rubbermaid Closet works great. I have a lot of clothes and it holds them all with out a bend.
Installation is easy also. I did it by my self.

Poor customer service |

First, I loved the product itself. It was very easy to install and looks great. But BEWARE!!!! I have a small closet and had extra shelves so I wanted to purchase additional 47.5" uprights to complete the look. RUBBERMAID DOES NOT SELL 47.5" UPRIGHTS SEPERATELY. I had several emails back and forth with a Customer Service person who told me that they only sell them in the kits. Since they sell the 25" uprights separately, I found this to be completely ridiculous. So, if you want to expand your Configurations closet, you will need to purchase multiple kits or a TON of the 25" uprights to achieve the same end. While I liked the kit I still feel that RUBBERMAID SUCKS!!! |
