Its a good deal when it was 13 dollars |
i bought this 2 months back. The iron is good. However there are a few shortcomings.
1) it does not have a LED indicator to show its on..I am so used to it that i miss it and i never thought while buying that it couldnt be there in any iron.
2) Water leaks while filling the tank.. |

Super Buy! |
This is a great iron for someone who just needs a basic iron. No dripping, spray mist feature is good, too. And the price cannot be beat.
Black & Decker has another great product. |

Light & Easy but too Hot! |
I purchased this iron a few months ago because I liked the temperature dial location and ease of adjustment. Many irons have the dial beneath the handle which is awkward. When it comes to certain household appliances, I'm a fan of keeping it simple. Ironing should be simple! This iron has good, simple features but fails when metal hits fabric.
Pros:
This iron has a sufficiently large water tank, enough for several days' worth of clothing. Tank fill hole is accessible. Cord is 10 foot long and rotates freely in its base. The instructions say it heats in 90 seconds, and it's steaming just as quick.
Cons:
The soleplate is horrible. The front tip is squared off and it catches as I'm ironing twill pants, have to continuously readjust fabric. The edges of the soleplate aren't rounded enough, so again the iron doesn't flow smoothly across the fabric. And I think my iron runs too hot for the fabric selection guide. I melted a poly/cotton sweater just enough that the front of the soleplate got sticky. And even though I cleaned it off, the sticky keeps coming back. Note to self: must use lower temperature than the guide suggests. The soleplate coating is already wearing off.
Overall, if you want an inexpensive iron in case company stops by, this iron would suffice. But if you iron daily (every morning before I get dressed), look for something with a smooth soleplate that will glide better. I'll probably be donating this iron to the secondhand store as soon as I find something better. |
