This gadget allows you to produce nice, round burgers of even thickness in next to no time. Assembly line techniques with the burgers will allow you extra time for whipping up a humdinger of a barbeque sauce. |

Works Like a Charm! |
|
Bought this hamburger patty maker after seeing the PBS TV show "America's Test Kitchens". Works like a charm, eazy to use and clean. Better than other pieces of junk patty makers that I have bought. |

Great kitchen gadget |
|
I've been looking for something like this for months at numerous stores. My mother had one when I was a kid that was simple and easy to use --- which this is. I was leary, but really impressed with the gadget. If you like to make frozen patties and don't want to spend extra for premade at the store this item is great. |

Does what it says, easy to use. |
This makes 1/2 lb burgers. That was not clear to me when I bought it. That's fine with me, but for people who were hoping for McD-sized burgers they'd probably want one about half that thickness.
I like it better than I thought. I can buy a big 5.5lb thing of burger, mix it in a big bowl with lots of spices, then you hold the press in one fist like an ice cream cone, stuff it with the other hand, kind of flatten against it and then run your finger around it to get the excess off the edges. I bought patty-papers which are great, they don't cost much and go a LONG way. I was able to very neatly stack these, for storing in freezer and fridge. They are more dense than the burgers I make by hand since I'm packing them tightly in there, which is yummy and makes them firmer for cooking.
It also means since I track my food intake I know how much I'm eating each time; and, this also means knowing exactly how long for cooking since they're all the same size; and, exactly how many I'll get out of a package of ground beef. It's kinda silly I guess, not like anybody can't make a burger with their hands, but I really like this little tool. |

Big Burgers - Too Thick and Round |
|
I bought this to help make my burgers appear more like what you would get at a restaurant, but it's not practical for my family. You still get hamburger meat everywhere and by the time you pack the meat inside this thing, you could have pattied your own hamburger. On top of that, you have to want extra large hamburger patties and use the bigger buns. My kids didn't like the big burgers and my husband didn't like them either. I would like it alright if it was smaller. Of coarse I will still have a mess, but at least I would get round patties. |
