Product Description
The epic story of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker continues as Link finds himself lost in a new adventure. Link and Tetra, the leader of a band of pirates, discover a ghost ship in dense fog. Link falls into the ocean when Tetra gets into trouble, and he wakes up alone on the shore of a mysterious island. Throughout the game, Link collects sand for his Phantom Hourglass, which allows him to explore deeper and deeper into a time-limited dungeon in his quest to find Tetra. Featuring intuitive touch-screen controls and innovative puzzles, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass offers new challenges for fans of the series and an easy-to-grasp introduction for gamers new to The Legend of Zelda. The robust single-player adventure will have Zelda veterans and newcomers alike engrossed by the story as they move through the game with the stylus. A special two-player battle mode lets players connect locally or via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. One player controls Link as he tries to gather as many Force Gems as possible, while the other player manages the enemies who pursue Link. The replayability of these winner-take-all matches is virtually endless.

Customer Reviews for  'The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass'

Very fun game in the Zelda series
If you have ever played a Zelda game and enjoyed it, then I am sure you will enjoy The Phantom Hourglass. Touch screen controls take a little while to get used to, but once you do you'll find that they work very well and are fun to use. The graphics are very well done and don't effect the framerate or amount of content in the game.

The only major complaint may be sailing is very tedious and the backtracking many times to this certain temple may get very old.

Overall, still a very fun game

Best DS Game so far
I've played through this game twice already, and keep getting amazed at the level of detail that Nintendo has put in the game. While hard-core fans might find the difficulty levels much lower than other Zelda games, the puzzles, the adventure, and the quests are still there. I loved it.

If you're looking for a perfect DS game, you've found it...
I bought this game on a whim, i do not follow the Zelda series and the last time i touched a zelda game was for the NES and i was about 6 years old so i hardly remember that game even. But this game is down right awesome, just spectacular and should be in every DS owner's library. It uses full advantage of the stylus, the controls are easy to learn, the puzzles are fun and challenging (but not to the point of frustration), the graphics are good, and after almost finishing the game (I'm at the end boss now) i can say that i was fully satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to any DS owner. I really wish there were more games like this for the DS because i'm learning that although the DS is a fantastic system, there are a TON of awful games for it and i have yet to find one as good as this... i can only hope that a sequel comes out... quickly!

GREAT GAME!

Not as fun as I remember, but a solid game for newcomers
I've played nearly every Zelda game since the beginning (when I was 6) and I love the genre. Over the years, and that's a lot of years, the fundamental formula has never gotten old for me. There were a few games that strayed from the mainstream Zelda theme, and they were not as good because of it, but overall Zelda has been a great franchise and an excellent series of games.

This iteration of the Zelda series in particular I have found to be uninspiring. While I admit I'm not far into the game, it's mainly because I'm so bored by the game that I can't commit the time to playing it. I never played windwaker and so the characters, style, and plot seems foreign to me. Also, where the heck is Zelda? The name Tetra doesn't mean anything to me, but I can guess there must be some relation. Still, so far I don't like any of the characters and the controls take some getting used to. Maneuvering through obstacles is not very intuitive (like zig zags of fire that make me stretch across each side of the screen) but managable.

As for my girlfriend just started playing video games and has never played Zelda before. She absolutely adores it, and even bought her own pink DS to play it on. I can see the appeal to girls or kids, but I find it difficult as a grown man to relate to this cutesy sprite protaganist and the other childish characters. It just bores me. The Wii game was better since it has a darker, grittier feel that I could get into.

If the buyer of this product is a kid, a girl, a kid-girl, is new to zelda games in general, or just really likes having adventures with little kids in green, I would highly recommend this product. Otherwise, I would recommend that you try some of the other Zelda games. As I said, the series is a timeless classic but this one game seems like an abherration.

I have only played Zelda Twilight Princess and Minish Cap and now ..this one.
I love these zelda games. They are easy to get into even if you don't know the whole story line. I do plan to play the other ones though. This particular game is like a pirate-y action adventure role play game and it's tons of fun!!! The ds control scheme is pretty cool too. Also, for people who can never remember things and people to go back to, this version allows you to write on your map using the touch screen and stylus.
