over 3 month not here-no replies to my emails! |
|
I paid almost $100 to Marketadvisory. Over 3 months and 4 emails have past. No magazine and no response to any of my emails, but Marketadvisory still has our money? too risky-don't do it |

Don't buy from Marketadvisory and Magazine Express!! |
The magazine is an excellent tool for helping you Japanese studies.
However, what this page doesn't tell you is that the magazines are shipped SEAMAIL from Japan which mean you'll recieve every issue 8 to 10 after it's released.
I placed my order in January and it to date have not recieved a single issue. After several phone calls, the Magazine Express people (who fill the Marketadvisory subscriptions) said they had to restart my subscription for the May issues which will take 8-10 weeks due to shipping issues. So after ordering in January, I will not receive a single issue of this uncancelable magazine until possibly in late July. Very poor service.
This is unacceptable for a magazine that most US Japanese bookstores can get within a week or that you can order directly from the publisher for ony a few dollars more. If I had known the shipping policy I would not have ordered and the magazine supplier, Magazine Express will not cancel the subscrition.
I advise avoiding ALL Marketadvisory magazine subsriptions due to their poorly stated policies.
**Update, I wrote this review in June. It is now July 8th and I've just been informed I must wait until August 15th to see if an issue arrives. I ordered the magazine on January 9th and I have had no resolution from either Magazine Express or Marketadvisory who provides no way to contact anyone within Marketadvisory about magazine orders. I reiterate, buying magazines from Marketadvisory if a poor idea.
****New Update! After several more phone calls, Magazine Express finally contacted the publisher who sent me all the magazines I had missed. In the last week of September (over nine months since I placed my order), I received a package of eight issues of Hiraga Times. I'm still irritated at the delay and the amount of effort it required to receive my subscription but must admit that Magazine Express finally did make good (so far anyway). Your call on whether the aggravation is worth the savings over going through another vendor.

For people who are studying Japanese... |
Hiragana Times is excellent tool for who are studying Japanese.I found this magazine in a book store in US (Kinokuniya) and I found this magazine is very useful for me to learn Japanese. Good thing about this mag is every sentences are written in both Japanese and English. |

Great Tool for Learning Japanese or English. |
|
This magazine is helpful because everything is written in both Japanese and English. For those studying Japanese, the kanji have furigana, so you know how to pronounce them, and you can look them up in the dictionary. You'll definitely increase your vocabulary and reading skills. If you don't want to spring for a subscription, you can find it in some bookstores in the US like Kinokuniya's US stores. Also you can check it out online and even order a digital subscription on their web site. |
