Customer Reviews for  'Cateye CC-ED300 Enduro 8-Function Bicycle Computer'

happy with it
I did research and decided to try this. It works great. Nice big M.P.H. display. My only complaint is that the instructions were written by someone who has a strong dislike for humans. Other than this, I really like it

Catey CC-ED300
Mounted this on the front tire of a Trek Mountain Bike. It seems like most of these bike computers are made for road bikes, but this one will work on a mountain bike. It has worked well for the month I have had it. The user interface is awkward and the instructions are difficult to understand at best, but after an hour of deciphering the included hieroglyphics, I was able to use the thing. Once I got the hang of the computer, it has been pretty easy to use. The display is laid out well, It will give you current speed, and time elapsed, or current speed and distance, which is what I use most often. I think this computer is worth the money.

Good Basic Computer for Mountain Bike
Though suitable for road or mountain bike, the heavier duty cable on the Cateye Enduro 8 make it better able to withstand the abuse of offroad cycling. The Cateye Mity is the same computer with standard cabling and can sometimes be found for less.

Works great!
This thing is great! If you're looking for a cyclocomptuer that has the basics and is not too expensive, then this is the one to get.

I've only it had for a week or so, but I am very pleased with it. I previously had a Bell 15 function wireless. What a piece of garbage that was. Worked for all of 5 minutes.

This one is wired, which is fine with me. The wire is black and my bike is black so you can't even see it. For those who complain they don't like the look of the wire on their bike, I'd like to ask them how they deal with looking at all of the other wires on their bike, like the brake cables and the gear shift cables. Stay away from wireless ones as they are prone to interference.

The only drawback is that the directions are not very straight-forward and can be a little confusing, but they provide drawings as well.

Once you get it hooked up it's a piece of cake to use. It's got an automatic feature that's wonderful. Just start riding the bike and the unit turns on and starts tracking you riding time, trip distance, speed, avg speed and top speed. So easy to use.

It's awesome! What are you talking about!
This computer is rad! I love it. I am surprised at all of the bad reviews.

The interface could be more intuitive, but even if all you do is keep pressing one or other of the buttons, you will eventually find the screen you want (unless you want to reset, which means you have to press all three buttons). You can print the manual from the Cateye website if you need to, but when I need to reprogram the computer to go on another bike, I just go to the site and look at the manual there. It takes 5 minutes.

This computer does everything I need it to, EXCEPT:
*It ought to have a backlight (but that would involve going through batteries more quickly, or using two batteries at once)
*I wish there were a cadence option
*I wish it were wireless (double-wireless with cadence!)
*It'd be safer and more convenient if you could choose which two measurements were onscreen together. Not all of the combinations are available (as far as I've seen, anyway). You have to press the buttons to see different information, and that ain't safe--especially in the dark.

But I mean, it's a sub-$30 computer. I don't expect all of those features for that price. If this computer had all that stuff, though, I'd be willing to pay a lot more for it. As it is, it is an excellent computer for the price.
