Description
The O³ White includes Power Plugs, a completely unique patent pending method of customizing the performance of your O³ racquet by increasing power and control. Rocky Carson's racquet of choice!
The power level for the O³ White racquet can range from 3200-3400 depending on the placement of the Power Plugs at the top of the frame.
Power Plugs: The addition of Power Plugs to your O³ racquet can change the swing weight and stability of the frame, resulting in greater overall power potential and reduced torque which improves power and control on off-center hits. Power Plugs are designed to be used in the O Ports at the top of the racquet frame only! Inserting Plugs in two O-Ports at the top of the frame will increase the power level by +100. Inserting the Plugs into all four O-Ports at the top of the frame will increase the power level by +200 while maximizing swing weight and stability.
Faster Swing Speed: O-ports reduce aerodynamic drag, creating a fast and maneuverable frame with a lightweight feel for accelerated swing speeds enabling players to reach more shots and rip more winners than ever before.
Power Ring: Ektelon developed a throat area with dual Power Rings allowing maximum string resiliency, ultimate shot control and re-stringing is a breeze!

Broke during a game in key structure points - garbage! |

This racquet feel apart at the seams. During a game, the top center cracked open and them crushed the sides. I tried returning, but they said to go to the company (annoying). When I did that, Ektelon NEVER did anything. I mailed the racquet back and it's been 6 months. I guess that could care less about their customers getting junk for products. I won't ever buy something by this company, Ektelon, again. |

Great Racquet...for a while |
I received this racquet as a Christmas present. I love it. It feels great. I like the idea of changing the balance with the power plugs. I have tons of power. I didn't think the control was all that bad.
On my sixth match, I broke the strings. In my 13 years of playing racquetball I have NEVER broken a set of strings before. This seems a little early to be running into a string problem. After closer examination, it was apparent that the string broke right next to one of the black power plugs (I run with only the two black power plugs in the outside holes). I thought ok. Then I looked at the string that wasn't broke next to the other plug. The string was half worn through.
I quickly returned to the retailer where I bought the racquet. They have been seeing some of these racquets coming back in with strings breaking very early. They talked with Ektelon to discuss some possible solutions. Apparently, they even tried running the string through tubing near the plugs and they still cut right through the tubing and the string in a short period of time. Will Ektelon eventually redesign the plug shape and make replacements available in the future? Not sure.
The retailer is taking good care of me. But the solution will be a restrung racquet, stronger strings, larger guage, and NO PLUGS. In order to compansate for the difference in weight balance I desire we are going with lead tape under the head tape. |
