We gave it to her for her 10th birthday because she is currently interested in fashion design. She plays with is constantly and has even persuaded her 12 year old brother to join in. This was the perfect gift for an artistic 10 year old. It is fun, requires imagination, promotes new skills, and offers pride in accomplishment. |

This is one of the very best toys I've ever seen for exposing tweens and up to the wonders of fashion play. When kids are comfortable with learning very basic sewing skills (too young a child would only be frustrated) this Fashion Design Studio will open a new window to a magical world of fashion creativity.
You can design some really "fierce" fashions with a velvet manneqin, 4 mini "bolts" of faric totalling 6 yards, fun fur, sketch book, swatches, trims and more. This is just what I remember spending hours playing with as a kid -- I just about set up a factory in my room with every piece of leftover material and trim we had in the house! (My mother was always sewing!) I had the best-dressed Barbie on the face of the earth. If I had seen this Fashion Studio back then, I would have passed out from excitement!
As it says on the box, "Childhood creativity lasts a lifetime." I wish I could give this toy (and this company) ten stars.

I was so pleased with this product! It's very hard to find quality educational and creative toys for children that aren't over priced - where you get a little quality for a lot of money. This kit is worth every penny. I shopped around and found the best price on Marketadvisory. Got it for my 8 year old's birthday (just turned 8) and she loved it. This is perfect for any girl that is interested in learning fashion design or sewing or has an interest in making their own barbie clothes - or just likes to be creative and artsy. As an added plus I found it useful for homeschooling. (Measuring, art, careers, textures, etc.) The kit included fun fabrics for the kids to play with, a mannequin, a book to draw their designs in and very nice instructions I was pleased with. Needles, swatches, thread, swatches, fabric glue and pencil, and a very pretty pre-made dress that the little ones can just add fancy stuff too if they want (I think it ran big though). There was more but I bought it a while ago so I can't remember everything. Little hangers for clothes. (Having a case to keep everything in would have been nice - but probably would have made the product more expensive.) There was a lot to "explore" with the kit so it wasn't just ripping it open and throwing it aside. It's definitely something to sit down with. I also felt it was new and different than a lot of stuff out there. (She's my youngest of six..so I've got a grasp on what's out there...) The idea of saving money by making barbie clothes is a good idea too. I am so happy I found this and I highly recommend it. If I'm ever stuck to get another girl a birthday present and they like Barbies I'd definitely consider getting this for a gift. Highly recommended. |

I purchased the fashion design studio for my 10 year old niece who wants to be a fashion designer. She loves it! Of all of the presents she received from other family members etc. she started playing with this immediately! She was so proud when she put together her own couture creation! I highly recommend this for anyone buying for a child with any interest in fashion! |
