These blocks are fantastic. My 2 year-old son had been given a different set of wooden blocks for his birthday, but the blocks were so tiny they were practically useless. They were much too small for him to try to build with.
I had been wanting to get a set of old-school wooden blocks like these for my son for a long time, but had a hard time finding them. I remembered playing with similar blocks in elementary school and having a great time with them. And Mister Rogers often plays with classic blocks like these on his show.
I was delighted to find these blocks on Marketadvisory. Got them on sale for $29.99 with free Super Saver shipping. A fantastic deal! These blocks are the standard, large wooden blocks. My son plays with these almost daily, which is a much better track record than most of his other toys. I know he will continue to get a lot of use from these, and when he's older I think we'll buy the architectural set (also by Melissa and Doug) to allow him greater flexibility in building.
