Big Disappointment |
|
My 6 year old son received a similar, larger-sized Vorgan set as a gift last Christmas. First of all the container was huge for the amount of components in contained - waste of packaging materials. My son and I tried assembling this toy but became increasingly frustrated because the pieces kept coming apart. We have significant experience with putting together large PlayMobil and Lego structures - the quality of the plastic and assembly of this MEGA product does not even come close. Heaven only knows what chemicals were used to make the rubber dragon plasma or the chromed plastic pieces. It is a product made in China. Basically you get what you pay for. Spend a little more for Lego or PlayMobil and feel assured it was designed and manufactured to the highest standards and by companies which take pride in making high quality toys. |

Great for Patient People.... |
|
This would be great for someone with a lot of time and a lot of patience. We didn't know that there were so many little pieces. It is hard not to lose any. But, this would be great for someone that likes to use their hands with small things, and has patience. |

Not what I expected! |
|
There needs to be somewhere in the description where it says the has 200 pieces and is like LEGOS. Looking at the picture it looks like a few large pieces to put together. I opened this and saw all the small LEGO type pieces and was upset. This was supposed to be a gift for one of my sons, but he has NO patience and would NEVER be able to do this. So now it sits in my closet. |

great toy awesome price |
|
I bought this for my 8 year old for Christmas and he has had lots of fun playing with it already. He's always been into Bionicles and makes the item first as directed then has many hours of imaginative play making his own. You can mix and match with other sets. It isn't as sturdy as the Lego brand but at the $8. price you can't beat it. I'm very satisfied. |

Pleasantly surprised - hours of fantasy fun |
I must confess, I've never had a favorable view of Mega Bloks. I grew up as a LEGO kid, and I always viewed Mega Bloks as a cheap knockoff. Well, I've been pleasantly surprised by our first two purchases of Mega Blok sets (this one and Dragonstone Battlefield). GIVE THIS SET A TRY.
The concept is fairly simple-these are blocks that are compatible with LEGO blocks of the same scale. You may assemble the set as described in the included instructions, or make a design from your own imagination.
The figures include two Draigar knights, four Vorgan warriors (like orcs or goblins), two catapaults, and a dragon. The dragon head functions like a battering ram. The dragon in this set does not have as many moveable joints as the one in the Dragonstone Battlefield set, but my son likes it all the same.
TWO NEGATIVES
-------------
(1) The people figures are not as sturdy as their LEGO counterparts, BUT that is because these figures have more joints and are more poseable. In addition, each figure has more relief details (raised and lowered portions on each part) than their LEGO counterparts, which differentiate mostly by using surface art and different headgear.
(2) My son (who is nine and a half) found that the plasma pieces don't stay attached to the main structure very well and it can be hard to get them into place. |
