Inspired by the classic shape and design of a skateboard, the Ripstick looks like something out of the future. Instead of the traditional four-wheel skateboard, this amazing board can make smooth, quick 360-degree turns on just two wheels. Just stand on the sturdy traction plates and subtle movements propel the Ripstick even up a hill! The front and rear flexible panels are controlled by a spring-oriented bar located on the top of the wheels. The rugged polyurethane wheels are 77mm/85A with ABEC-5 bearings. Separating the two traction plates is a padded rubber carrying handle. Comes with an instructional DVD. Measures 33.5" long x 10" wide. Weighs 8 lbs. My daughter LOVES LOVES this! It took about a week to get the balance but once she did she has NOT stopped! It is a GREAT "Core" workout and is fun so she doesn't even think it's exercise...just fun! The cool thing with this is how you can go up hill once you learn how to do the weaving back and forth motion (a friend showed her). So it is better than a skate board - you can go uphill weaving then turn around and coast back down hill. One caution -- don't go downhill too fast becasue there is really no good way to stop other than jumping off. My daughter says there is no way to stop because you will loose balance so you can only jump off! -- WEAR HELMETS and KNEE PADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I bought one for my daughter's 10th birthday. She loves it! It came with a video on how to use it and do tricks, and she watched it before using it the first time. Even though MN winters start early, she has been on it more than what I expected. I recommend this product for anyone who loves to skateboard - it's a step up in difficulty, but once mastered, it offers much more flexibility. |

RipStik ~~ What a great idea! My kids love their RipStiks!!! They learned to ride in about 15 minutes. We put on our helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, etc., but there were no falls! They were riding wonderfully in day or two. An EXCELLENT form of exercise!!!!! |
