Cute horsies, but balance not a priority |
I like all the Littlest Pet Shop horses, so this set was irresistible to me.
The one thing that keeps it from living up to its full potential is that the cowboy hats throw the horses off balance and make them fall forward. Fine if you're a kid dancing them around the floor, but if you're a collector of any age displaying them, you might have to come up with some creative solutions. |

This set is so cute! The two ponys are adorable,and they are really hard to find otherwise. The cat looks like Garfeild, which makes him even cuter. The cart that the pony pulls is so much fun and the hats that they wear stay on without any plastic strings. This is a really unique set. |

My seven-year old granddaughter wanted this for Christmas because she didn't have any horses. She was thrilled when she opened it. I, on the other hand, think it is way too expensive for what you're getting - $20 is too high for the little tiny things and the saddles for the horses are so small she lost them the first day. Oh, well, whatever the baby wants, the baby gets!! |

Hooray for Horses! |
I was very pleased to find this playset at Toys R Us for $11.00. The price tags some of these online vendors put on LPS toys is a crime.
Generally, I'm not big on buying these sets. You get 3 pets and a bunch of accessories that, at least in my house, ususally get lost. I prefer buying pet pairs - you can get 4 pets for the same money, or even a dollar less.
But we don't have any horses, and they are hard to find. This just released set includes 2 standing horses - one white and one brown. (one for each girl - hooray!) Each horse comes with a soft plastic cowboy hat, and a blue ribbon it can wear on its leg. The other pet is a smooth yellow cat with blue eyes. Cute, but nothing special.
As with all these sets, there are a lot of accessories. The biggest is a little pink 2-wheeled wagon the cat (or other pet) can ride in that attaches to a horse to be pulled. Other items include hay, bowl, feedbag, brush, flags, fish, jump, trophy cup, and a coat rack that holds 2 bridles. The box says "over 20 pieces", and I believe them.
Bottom line - if you need horses, it's a definite buy. |
