Watch Out for the Pointy Corners! |
This is a nice toy that can get some good play value if your kid is patient.
While this toy is safe for a 3 year old, it's not safe if your kid likes to throw things. I have to carefully monitor my kid when he plays with it since I'm afraid the pointy corners will hurt other kids if the block is thrown.
Regarding another reviewer's complaint that kids can't see what they're building since there's no image to follow: If you flip the wooden tray around, you can build the puzzle on the shallower side. There are some small images of the puzzles' solutions there. I agree that the puzzle should have come with some insert of what the puzzle solutions are since there is no box. This item comes just like you see in the photo with some shrink wrap over it. |

Melissa & Doug Pets Cube Puzzle |
|
My 21 mo daughter loves to just stack the blocks randomly but seems to enjoy the pictures when we put it together. The only negative about them is that the pictures seem to be stickers that are adhered to the blocks, so practically everyone seems to be peeling up around the edges. |

Fun and challenging |
My daughter (2 yrs and 3 months old) and I have been playing this cube puzzle everyday since we received it a month ago. We made all six animals together every time and then she wanted to do it again! I am very very happy with this fun learning toy.
The only thing I would suggest is, there should be a separate printout with bigger pictures like the one at the back of the tray. So that kids can easily follow the pictures to make each animal. I had to take the tray to a color printer to blow up the picture. |

Perfect Puzzle for my 3 year old Twins |
|
My 3 year old twins love this puzzle. They received this as a gift when they were 2 and we would make the puzzle for them. About 2 months before their third birthday, my son was able to make all the animals by himself. His twin sister lagged behind only a month in her ability to make the puzzles. This is one of their favorite puzzles and they even take it to bed at night. At times they work together making the animals, but most of the time they sit independently for a half hour to an hour at a time making the different animals. As with all puzzles, parents need to be involved to show their child how to work the puzzle. Once they get the hang of it, they will love to make whatever animal you or they choose. Today I am ordering today the farm animal block puzzle that is very similar to this one. |
