Customer Reviews for  'Panline DRAW IN THE TUB RUB A DUB'

Spent a lot of $$$ on bathtub toys, this is the most enduring!
I read the poor reviews on here. Certainly you can't fault that this is a good product just because you "wanted more crayons". Another said it dissolved right in her child's mouth, my child put her mouth on it just a second and she barely got a crayon mark on her lip, no residue in her mouth, but to be safe, yes, don't buy these until your child is past the age of chewing on their toys.

I must say they have been the best bang for our buck when it comes to bathtub toys. We've spent probably $60 total in bathtub toys and this has been the most loved and used AND one of the cheapest to boot! We love them. We've not had a problem with crayons sliding out of their holders until they are just a stubble of a crayon left, then, yes they do fall out. The crayons are chunky so they don't just snap off when little ones use them, the scrubber duck, soft yellow on one side and harder smooth white on the other for deep scrubbing works well but the 2 different materials used to make him DO start to come apart after time---but it's just about the time the crayons are done anyhow so we bought another set.

We thought these were so great we bought the bathtub markers to. THOSE were a disappointed, see my review there.

Grandma's bath time fun
I picked this up when I knew I'd be baby sitting my grandkids aged 2 and 8 for a long evening. We emptied and refilled the tub twice! The crayons marked on the tub and the kids easily and cleaned up easily with the duck sponge. Both ages loved this toy. I agree with other reviewers, more crayon, less holder would be better. The water in the tub looked like the brush-washer cup looks when you use water colors. No worries, we rinsed the kids off with the shower wand and all was well. I'm buying more.

Overrated
This product I thought would be great for m toddlera. I bought the smaller version of these and the worked great. I thought the thicker ones would be better but it turns out they charge you more (obviously for the duck) and give you fatter pens but the same amount as the smaller pens of crayon. So your paying for the duck not more crayon. Yes fatter pen but not an upgrade. The duck washer removes the crayon and tub paint well from the tub, so its a good buy for the duck! The minimal crayon amount still sucks!

Really Wait Until Child 2 or 3 Years
I'm surprised this item has gotten such good reviews. I bought these on a whim the other day and brought them home for my 16-month old. She is getting a little bored in the bath, and I thought this would be a fun way to engage her more during bathtime. (We bathe every night as part of her bedtime ritual, and she seems to tire of all the bath toys we buy after only a month or so.) There were two major problems with the crayons: first, like another reviewer noted, the crayons do not stay in the holder on their own. When you tip them to draw, the crayons slide right out. Second, woe betide you if your child manages to get one in his/her mouth. Daddy was bathing that night, so maybe he wasn't as vigilant as Mama would've been watching her in the tub (although he is on his knees in front of the tub the entire bath; this I know with 100% certainty, but perhaps he was looking at where he was washing instead of her mouth at the time). Regardless, my daughter got the crayon in her mouth for literally 2-3 seconds and the entire crayon dissolved. This was understandably a very scary moment, as there was no information on the package regarding toxicity or safety precautions if the contents were swallowed. Not even a manufacturer phone number to call with questions. Poison control said they were not toxic, which you might assume in the absence of any toxicity warnings. BUT when your child has just swallowed a large amount of something, you want information immediately available, dang it! I believe that the second problem is related to the first because if the crayon were to remain stuck inside the holder as designed, a child couldn't eat, say, 2/3 of the crayon in one bite. I know... there's no substitute for parental supervision, and my child was under the recommended age. Believe me, I'm not one of these "There should be a warning label on that chainsaw!!"-type people, but the product just wasn't what I expected. However, this was my first experience with bathtub crayons, so maybe I thought they'd be more like normal crayons and not spontaneously incinerate with a single drop of human saliva. :)

Messy!
I have been given 2 boxes of these crayons for my 3 and 5 year old sons. The boys LOVED them...I did not. They actually do stain some tubs (both of mine). The marks eventually come off with a good deal of scrubbing. The little ducky sponge helps but in my personal opinion the after clean up effort makes the fun the boys have with these crayons less than desirable.

If you are looking for REAL kid fun in the tub I'd go with the Crayola color dots! The can comes with 3 different color pellets. By mixing 2 pellets into the tub water a child can see how 2 colors create a new color. Colors are vibrant and even change bubble bath bubbles to their color. MUCH easier to clean up and just as much fun.
