Editorial Review |
|
Tucker the turtle is made from soft lime green and lavender velour with brightly colored, boldly patterned trims. Each foot rattles or crinkles when touched. Tucker's shell features bright geometric shapes and his underbelly is an unbreakable mirror perfect for self-discovery. Two plastic rings and a triangular plastic link are attached to his looped tail. His smiling face squeaks when pressed firmly and can even be tucked inside his shell with a grownup's help, though this turtle has no reason to hide his head. --Tami Horiuchi |

great toy |
|
I bought the lamaze play and grow for my newborn son soon after he was born. Although he can't really play with it he sure does enjoy the mirror. I like it for its creative colors, and different textures he will soon learn to love and have fun with his new toy. |

Great toy |
|
This toy was bought as a shower gift for our fourth baby in 2002, and it's still in the toy box. It has many features and is just overall a great toy that keeps babies occupied. |

Awesome for tummy time |
|
It's soft, crinkly and rattles. What baby could resist this great turtle? It was especially delightful to watch him play with the mirror when he got old enough to discover it. |

Tucker is a must have! |
Tucker is my daughter's favorite toy. She started playing with it at 3 months old. Now at 6 months, they are inseparable. She loves the rings. We have washed Tucker every few days for months now (in a pillowcase) and he is still looking great.

Parent Pleaser, But Baby Boo-Hooed |
I loved the idea of this toy. It's got everything a baby finds interesting: bright colors, a mirror, simple noises like squeaks and crinkles, rings for grabbing and chewing, and a little, curly ribbon for 'hair.' However, I found that my son wasn't interested in this toy for more than a few seconds at a time from age 1 month to 10 months. He showed slightly more interest in it around 6 months, playing with it for about 1 minute at a time here and there, but that was all the excitement he could muster for it. My son happens to prefer harder toys that make noise when banged on a hard floor.
Despite my son's lack of interest in this toy, I recommend it for young babies (0-6 months). Perhaps you can shop for it at a store where your baby can examine it in person to determine whether you want to buy it or not. I like: 1) that it's a self-contained toy with no disengaging parts to lose, 2) it's machine washable, 3) it's light and compact (and thus easy to carry on a plane or in the car), and 4) possesses all the elements necessary to entertain a young baby. It's also extremely durable. |
