Customer Reviews for  'HP PSC 1410 All-in-One Printer (Q7290A#ABA)'

Good for low usage
I have used this printer consistently for over to years now. As a graphic designer I have put it through a lot of work in these two years and it show. I can't print anything that uses a lot of ink anymore because it can't handle it. However, it did work well under heavy usage for over two years, I have no problems with paper not pulling, but it does eat A LOT of ink. On or two full page images is enough to eat a cartridge unless you let it sit overnight.

persistent malfunction
When the cartridges are replaced the machine automatically runs a test page. Fair enough. However, for some time now it runs the test page every time it is turned on. On tech assistance web sites, many others report the same problem. Forget HP tech support. This machine is a cartridge-eater. Avoid.

The Worst Printer Imaginable
Everything is designed to be an inconvenience. Every time you turn it on, a full page test print is done and wastes ink. It prints horribly, fails consistently, and is awkward to use in every respect. It jams and doesn't feed correctly, print processes will hang endlessly. Stay away no matter what.

Worst printer I've ever bought. Shame on you, HP!
The HP 1410 is an "all-in-one" in that it combines a color inkjet printer, flatbed scanner, and a standalone copier in one box.

HP used to be the reference standard for printers. I wouldn't buy anything else. Those days are long gone. This printer is below mediocre.

The scanner is OK, but the software that is included to control the scanner is nonintuitive and very slow. We've got a $35 Brother scanner at work that easily blows it out of the water, both in terms of speed and ease-of-use.

The printer simply stinks. Text documents look OK, but the printer goes through black ink very quickly, and new black carts are expensive. It mangles envelopes and non-standard-sized paper. Color printing is very poor; the colors are washed out and printing takes forever. The printer constantly reports problems with either the carts or the paper. Reinsertions make the errors go away for a few pages.

After owning this printer for about a year, I am ready to throw it out even though it still works and has only been lightly used. Given the problems we've had with our big HP laserprinters at work and the shoddy quality of of this printer, this is the last HP printer I will consider.

Sorry, HP, but you've cut corners until you've cut out a once-loyal customer.

Photo Edit Software
A printer is a printer. I am more impressed with the editing of scanned pictures. I scanned pictures from 20+ years ago and they look like new pictures. The image editting software is easy to use. I quit using the software that came with my computer and the software that came with my camera. I only use HP's software now.
