Great DivX Player & 1080p Upconversion! |
|
This is a short & sweet review... Buy this DVD player now! No explanation needed, well maybe just a couple. DivX playback is great (no skipping) & upconversion quality is awesome. |

sleek and functional |
DVD player works great. Plugged it into HDTV and it enhanced the DVD and delivered a great picture.
At only 3/4 of an inch or so in depth, fits great with the components on my shelf.
Would recommend it to anyone. |

Samsung DVD-1080P8 Upconverting DVD Player Review |
|
I have two of this Samsung DVD players--one attached to my 32-in LCD widescreen HD TV (1360 by 768 resolution) and the other to my 24-in LCD widescreen PC monitor (1920 by 1200 resolution). Each display is connected via HDMI cable to its corresponding DVD player. Playing high-quality standard DVDs, the picture and sound are stunning on both displays. |

There definitely is a noticable difference. |
So to begin I won't act like I understand the differences entirely between things like HDTV, SDTV, 1080p, 1080i, 720p and upconverting. All I can give you is my personal opinion based on my use of the DVD player.
I received it as a package deal with my new Samsung LCD TV and began using it right away. It's very slim and doesn't take up a lot of space. I like that it's black not silver and very sleek looking. The first time I watched a DVD on it I wasn't sure that it really was making the quality any better, but after watching the DVD on another TV I realized that there was an improvement.
Overall I like the DVD player, Samsung is one of the best brands in my opinion and if it helps improve the viewing quality of your DVD's then great! |
