I bought this item and from the moment i recieved it, it did not work...it was returned and i got robbed the 22 bucks it cost for shipping it to me...wont buy from them again!! zero stars in my book! I sent them an email inquiring about shipping and heard nothing back.... |

CD Player failed after 2 months |
The CD changer failed after 2 months of very light use (maybe 30 plays).
I have had good luck with SONY products in the past but this is a piece of junk.

A lot of sound for the money |

I haven't owned a "traditional" stereo system for many, many years and am surprised at the depth, clarity and quality of sound this "compact" unit puts out - and at a very reasonable price. I'm not quite sure why it's called compact - it almost completely covers a 3' shelf - would highly recommend it! |

CDPlayer quits functioning |

Sony MHC-EC55 Mini Stereo was purchased Dec.2007 and was great for about five months. Then the CD player would only play two Cds and recently (August) it has quit playing completely. It reads NO DISC when there are three discs carefully loaded. I am so very disappointed in this player because it is quite large and now is useless. I have tried to contact SONY with no luck. I have a large quantity of CDs and I would love to be able to play them, but I wondering if the life of a CD player is about six months. |

great value for the money, good system |

The sound on this is much better than a $25 boombox that I used to own, which I returned to WalMart after a BRAND NEW cd I had bought started skipping in it, and the sound is also better than my computer, which, until now, I had thought had good(++) sound...it's definitely not audiophile quality, but if that's what you want, you're gonna have to pay A LOT more for that...($2K MINIMUM!; for the unit, receiver, and the speakers and whatever else you'll need to go along with it...). |
