The Shakers developed their own system of musical notation, composed over 10,000 works of music, and even invented (in 1871) a new instrument called the piano-violin. However, only one original Shaker music stand is know to exist. We have designed a music stand which can be used while seated or standing. It adjusts in height from 41" to 54". The tilt of the music rest adjusts into any of three positions. Solid clear Pennsylvania cherry. Shown in Shaker Oil Finish. Desk measures 17 3/4" x 11 1/2" high. This furniture kit contains all the materials needed, except the final finish, including sandpaper, Shaker Oil Finish, hardware, and simple step-by-step instructions. Each component has been precisely fashioned to assure an accurate fit before you do the final hand sanding and finishing. Only common hand tools are needed to assemble our kits. You'll discover that the simplicity of Shaker furniture makes it not only beautiful, but also easy to assemble. |
