Cannot Highlight or Annotate PDFs |

I too am a graduate student and until the DX allows highlighting and annotation, the product is useless. Additionally, when I sync with my computer, I need the highlighted PDFs transferred back to my computer for storage in my PDF library (i.e., EndNote). Shame. :( |

KindleDX |
The KindleDX is a great product and the large screen size makes for easy reading. For us UK customers, available Kindle Store content isn't the best in the world, but I'm hoping to see this improve over time as more publishing houses out there realise that there is a growing market for e-books.
My thoughts for possible improvements include:
It would be nice if the background could be made a bit whiter to enable more comfortable reading in low light conditions.
Although the screen isn't as reflective as the Sony e-book, I think that a higher matt finish would improve reading under artificial lighting as I find I have to orientate the screen to avoid reading light reflections.
Finally, it would be nice to be able to zoom in on parts of .pdf documents whilst in portrait mode rather than having to rotate the KindleDX sideways into landscape mode. |

regret that so many books are unavailable in Europe |
I really looked forward to being able to read on my Kindle here in Europe. I trusted all the PR material that told me about all the lovely books I could receive in next to no time - and happily scrolled through the books on Marketadvisory. I suppose that somewhere in that material you stated that many of the books available in the US are unavailable to your European customers, but alas, I didn't see it, so no I am stuck with rather an expensive purchase of a lovely Kindle for which I can't get a lot of the books that I was looking forward to reading on my many hours on air planes and in hotel rooms - and at home, of course.
Hopefully, you catalogue for Europe will grow - the tooter the sweeter, for my Kindle (9.7) deserves to be used..... (and I want my money's worth) |

I cannot understand HOW people can buy those BLACK AND WHITE readers, with PHYSICAL KEYBOARDS, when a new generation of COLOR readers with VIRTUAL keyboards is announced in April, with MUCH MORE flexibility, at EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE. As you can see, I'm not quoting any competitor, that's because I have a great respect for Marketadvisory as a book seller. But this time people, you're taking people for fools. Please, take that product away, or cut the price in half. |

The Pros:
1. The 9" display is the right size for e-Book because that is also the size of many many traditional hard copy books.
2. The thickness is good, just like the thickness of a writing pad
3. Native support of PDF, which is the crucial features that is a MUST in my case, because I want to have my scan document to store in it so that I can read on the road too
4. Long lasting battery for a few weeks without problem in my case.
The Cons:
1. In viewing of PDF, it does not support zooming - too BAD. I am considering giving it up and purchase another alternative e-Book that supports zooming !
2. It does not support PDF Portfolio but this is tolerable at this time
3. It is too slow in flipping from page to page which makes searching IMPOSSIBLE. As a result, it is only good for continual reading. |
