Not White as in Photo ! |
Most of you will choose this item versus others because its shown as White to match your other MAC cables.
When I received mine, they were BLACK in color. This is misleading advertising. |

Fine if you don't need to chain it |
|
I needed this to dump video from an older camcorder (Firewire 400) onto a new iMac that has only a Firewire 800 port. It didn't work (Final Cut couldn't see the camera) when I plugged it into the free port on my external FW800 drive, but worked fine when I disconnected the external drive and plugged the adapter directly into the iMac. If you have enough free space on your internal drive to get around that quirk, its a cost-effective choice. |

Firewire 800 9-6 Adapter |

Worked great to connect firewire 400 cable from old 23 flat screen to Desktop Mac with 800 jack receptacle. |

GREAT PRICE.....PERFECT ANSWER FOR ME |
|
NO PROBLEMS SO FAR......CONNECTS TO A G-DRIVE EXT HARD DRIVE....CHEAPER THAN A NEW CABLE AND DOES THE SAME JOB...WRAPPED A PIECE OF ELECTRICAL TAPE AROUND THE CONNECTION TO SECURE THE G-DRIVE CABLE TO THE ADAPTER....WORKED LIKE A CHARM |

I'm probably nitpicking... |
|
...but the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the fit in the FireWire port. It doesn't fall out, it works perfectly, it's just that it doesn't fit flush, and gives the impression that it's GOING to fall out. All in all, it was well worth the price, as I was able to transfer settings from a MacBook to a new MacBook Pro, as well as use the FireWire cables I already owned with my new MacBook Pro flawlessly. |
