Great |
|
I connected this to a windows 7 laptop. Installation was crazy fast. I've never had a problem with this mouse. It still is running on the first battery I put in it. I like that I can leave the USB connecter in because it is so small but even if I remove it it gets stored in the mouse. A great purchase. |

Where have you been all of my life? |
It arrived today! I've been down about a week without an external mouse for my laptop. I'm setting aside my Targus, $18 mouse. It will no longer connect. I wrestled with paying more than $20 for a mouse for my laptop, but I don't want anymore headaches. I went with Logitech because of the name and I liked the nano usb receiver. The added features? Who cares... until now... AWESOME! I particularly like the scroll wheel. You want clicking? Push the thing in and it locks into the clicking mode. You want a free spinning wheel, one that will take you to the end of the webpage in seconds? Push in the wheel again, disengaging the clicking option and give it a spin like on the Price Is Right. Smooth. Fast. Accurate. SOFTWARE! Something my Targus did not come with. Windows XP Home recognized and installed the receiver with no problem. The software gives you the flexibility of using the other features... even a display of battery life... 170 days out of the box with two Duracell AAA batteries, provided. What else does this mouse offer? Look at the description. But for one last highlight, the button on the top, push it and it opens a small screen allowing you to choose from a vertical list of all of the programs / screens currently running. How cool is that?
I sit at my laptop the majority of most days. Where have you been all of my life? This mouse and I are going to get along very well. I love it. Simply love it. |

Nano Failure |
It was OK until nano receiver stopped working. Funny though, I have to push it hard on USB ports to make it work. I tried to make contact with customer service. Another failure, they have never responded.
If you use this item on a desktop computer that receiver is connected all the time, it may last long. But while using in my laptop which after 4 months, nano receiver became loose and non functional. I don't recommend anyone for portable use. |

good for real-time usage |
|
I play internet poker for a living, and so I need a mouse that is both precise and quick, comfortable, and easy to use. The VX Nano is more than I might want to pay for a mouse otherwise, but its performance can't be overstated. I tried to get by with a cheap Microsoft mouse for a while and deemed it worthless after about a week. |

Perfect feature set marred by Logitech build quality |
This came SO close to being the perfect mouse. The ergonomics are great, the tiny receiver makes it good for desktops or netbooks alike, and the frictionless scroll wheel is something that really needs to be on every mouse, ever. But there are two gigantic, ridiculous flaws.
1: The left and right scroll wheel tilt doesn't work in XP unless you install Logitech's Setpoint driver, which is so buggy as to be worse than useless. Every time you hit the forward or back buttons on the mouse, gibberish ASCII characters are entered in any text fields on whatever website you're browsing. It's insane, and about five minutes of it will be enough to convince you to uninstall Setpoint and just live without sidescrolling. Fortunately, Vista and 7 support the mouse completely without needing to muck about with Setpoint at all.
2: The switches are of bad quality and wear out fast. The right button started failing to register clicks after just 2 months of use. I've seen mice that cost $3 last longer than that. If you buy this thing, make sure you get a receipt. |
