The Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for the Nuvi Series works very well in my Tundra, Avalon and Explorer vehicles, all of which have very different dashboards. I would rather have the flexibility of placing the GPS anywhere that I want (which you can do with this accessory)than having a dash-mounted device. Excellent value for your $$$ |

This temporary dashboard mount beats the heck out of a windshield suction mount, and allows for easy transfer between vehicles. It's a sturdy platform and doesn't slide around. The mount came in really handy during a recent round-trip 950-mile vacation because I could easily remove the GPS unit from view during short driving breaks and overnight stays. Leaving no indication my vehicle was GPS-equipped gave me a greater sense of security. |

The bottom of the friction mount is non-slippery, so it really does stay put on the dash, even if the dash is sloped. I highly recommend this mount if you don't want to stick a mounting plate on your dash. |
